Who we are
OD Relay is operated by Passport Informatics, LLC. OD Relay connects optometry practices seeking temporary coverage with licensed optometrists seeking shift opportunities. Practices pay OD Relay listing fees and pay optometrists directly for professional services.
Information we collect and use
We collect account and contact information, professional profile and licensing information, practice and shift information, applications, availability and conflict preferences, billing references, and records needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the marketplace.
For the optional OD Relay Urgent Opportunity Alerts program, we collect the mobile number supplied by a Relief OD, the date and status of consent, opt-out status, delivery records, and interactions needed to honor messaging preferences. We use this information only to administer eligible urgent/Panic shift alerts, support requests, compliance, fraud prevention, and service operations.
SMS consent and mobile information
Participation in SMS alerts is optional. Message frequency varies and may be zero when no eligible urgent opportunity exists. Message and data rates may apply. A user can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or change the SMS preference while signed in.
We do not sell or rent mobile numbers or SMS consent. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.
Service providers and required disclosures
We use service providers to host OD Relay, authenticate users, process OD Relay fees, deliver communications, maintain records, and protect the service. They may process information only to provide those services. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with an organizational transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. SMS opt-in data and consent remain excluded from such sharing except as necessary for the telecommunications providers that deliver the requested messages.
When a Relief OD provides a private address or a Practice Owner provides an office address, OD Relay transmits that address server-side to the official U.S. Census Geocoder solely to normalize the address and obtain approximate coordinates for distance matching. OD Relay stores the normalized result and coordinates to avoid unnecessary repeat requests. A Relief OD's address, coordinates, travel radius, and calculated distance are private and are not disclosed to practices.
Retention, security, and choices
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, honor preferences and opt-outs, meet operational and legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information. Users may update marketplace and messaging preferences within OD Relay and may contact us about access, correction, or deletion requests.
